State Aboriginal Health Planning Forum meeting, Perth

Due to a tragic loss in the Community the August 2010 Board Meeting has been postponed until 15th September 2010.

The Board Meeting will be held in Newman from 9am-3pm at Newman House, 15 Iron Ore Parade, Newman.

Agenda includes:

a) updates on OATSIH base funding and State and Commonwealth CoAG funded programs
b) status of hiring and resource allocations for health promotion programs in all the Communities
c) update on upgrade of communications infrastructure including satellite dishes and local radio links
d) Summary Care Records and potential linkages to other ACCHS, WACHS hospitals and RFDS
e) Determinations of applications for Membership of PAMS
f) set date for Annual General Meeting 2010

The meeting will be held at Newman House from 9am – 3pm.  Agenda includes:

a) results of the community consultation about building a replacement clinic in Jigalong, opening a satellite clinic in Newman, upgrading the Punmu clinic and building additional staff housing in Jigalong;
b) updates on State and Commonwealth COAG funding;
c) updating the Strategic Plan for service delivery in the East Pilbara and
d) hiring priorities for new positions and decision as to confirmation of the Chief Executive Officer.

The Board will be joined by the External Board Members for a community meeting and review of the strategic plans for the expansion of PAMS services.

PAMS Board Meeting is to held in Parnngurr (Cotton Creek) on the 25th and 26th May 2010.  25th May 2010 is the Board Meeting to detail the Annual Action Plan and budget for 2010-2011.  The budget includes COAG funded activities agreed through the Pilbara Region Aboriginal Health Forum with the Department of Health and Ageing, Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) and WA Department of Health.

A meeting of the PAMS Advisory Group will be held 15th April 2010 at AHCWA.
