PAMS gains accreditation against RACGP Standards for General Practice (Ed.3)

Congratulations to the board, management, staff, locums and external advisors on enabling PAMS to receive AGPAL Accreditation on 30th August 2011.  Gaining Accreditation has been a major milestone for PAMS since returning to Aboriginal Community Control in 2009.  The support of OATSIH through its Accreditation Grants Program is acknowledged and appreciated.

The level of effort required to be compliant across all the different Criteria for a Practice in such a remote location reflects the dedication of PAMS to gaining recognition for the quality of the services provided to the community and to the large number of transients who pass through especially during Lore Time and for cultural activities.   Bringing all aspects of the Service up to the level required for Accreditation of a General Practice has occurred despite the obstacles of old buildings and logistical nightmares while coping with an active client base that has doubled over the last year.

PAMS is also now on a three year Funding Agreement with OATSIH, the assurance of baseline funding will assist in maintaining Standards and in building on the foundation of receiving official recognition of our Service.

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service is diversifying

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service is diversifying its service delivery to incorporate new streams of funding through Close the Gap Initiatives funded by the government of Western Australia and the Commonwealth.  New or extended Programs include:
