"Martu people living in remote Western Desert communities are now able to access the same level of health care as the rest of Australia thanks to the recent installation of satellite technology. The new state of the art digital infrastructure means Martu people in these communities can attend telehealth appointments with a range of specialists, including psychologists, physiotherapists and doctors, without the need to travel thousands of kilometres.
The satellite technology was installed in response to COVID-19 at the beginning of the pandemic to protect the Martu communities in the Western Desert."
Thank you to BHP Western Australia for funding the satellite project, enabling our communities to stay on Country while getting quality medical service from PAMS online.
